Duck Calling Scholarships For College

Unusual and talented, are you? Maybe that one thing that seemed weird to everyone else could earn you some cash. For example, can you call ducks? Then look no further because you could potentially earn a scholarship to college. Imagine, just for being able to call ducks!

The Chick and Sophie Major Memorial Duck Calling Contest is offered to high school seniors who have graduated high school to come out and earn money. The money they earn can be used as a scholarship for any educational field. The requirements are that you are at least a high school senior in the United States. You are given 90 seconds to use the calls feed, hail, comeback, and mating. The prize amounts include Grand at $2,000 to 3rd runner-up at $500$.

Does that contest sound like an easy shoe in for you? Then go to Stuttgart Arkansas Commerce of Chamber to register yourself. Each year it is held in Arkansas in late November.

The FAFSA or Free Application for Federal Student Aid

The US government sets aside billions (yes, that’s billions) of dollars every year to help qualified students pay for college. Applying for this aid is completely free of charge and should be the first step for any adult student seeking financial aid.

How to Qualify

While the application is free, there are some conditions you must meet to be eligible for Federal Student Aid. Some aid is based on financial need, but some unsubsidized loans, such as the Stafford Loans, have different requirements. Here is a list of just some of the requirements. For a complete list, check with the financial aid office at your college.

You must have a Social Security Number.
You must have a diploma, GED, homeschooling certification or pass an “ability to benefit” test.
You must enroll as a regular student seeking a degree or certificate.
